I Stalked Your Facebook Profile and I Liked What I Saw

In The Wedding Present, I meditate on visual perception and the fragility and alterability of interconnected relationships by applying dead human skin cells and plant life directly to film and projecting them as loops until they are destroyed. The films are handmade originals constructed out of clear film acetate and double-sided tape that alternate between single frames of skin patterns and double frames of dead flowers. Projected continuously, these flickering patterns appear overlaid and create an ephemeral textural experience that over time becomes altered and irrevocably damaged as the image flakes off while simultaneously collecting dirt and lint. The film loops are also exhibited as sculptural objects.
